Hi, rockhounds! It was a rough winter for me, fraught with health problems. I've recovered from the Flu that plague me for three months, most of which was spent asleep in bed. I've caught up with all the sleep missed for the past 30 years! Last Fall, I (foolishly) committed to cranking out a book/website on Central California roadside rockhounding, to launch this Fall. The first pages are ready for critique, and will be posted in the "Locations" topic for your perusal. Give me your ideas and criticism, but, please be kind. My first posts to the sales area will be up later today, a bunch of top notch Panoche Hills slabs. Feel free to buy any or all of them! Me n' Al will be at the Roseville Show this weekend, and look forward to seeing you if you attend. Were bringing a ton (plus!) of rock, so bring them pickup trucks and load up on great rock! Seeya soon! Kris

Thanks, Connie! I've had a few days that were bad, but I'm mostly feeling better every day. The toughest part is gaining back 18 lb. of hard won muscle mass. I'll just carry more rock! The Roseville Show RULES! Without a doubt, it was the happiest Show we've attended, with smiles on the faces of everyone involved. Hand-2-Mouth Mining did well, and we're definitely planning on being back next year. Me n' Al send our most heartfelt thanks to RFTF! member Denise Hansen for her stalwart efforts as Show vice chair, and her amazing hospitality as our host. Next up is the Mariposa Show, April 13-14, 2013, at the California Mining & Mineral Museum, Mariposa Fairgrounds. The complex is located south of Mariposa, on Hwy 49. Since I'll be out at the Area 54 RFTF!/CFMS/NorCal Co-op field trip on April 13, Mr. Al will be flying on his own at Mariposa that day, with his lovely wife Sara (our 500th member!). Sunday the 14th, we'll be hosting Will Puryear III at the Show, showing off (and selling!) the fine agate, petrified wood and other South Texas lapidary rock he's bringing with him. Will will be answering questions on Texas collecting, so come by and meet him. I'll be announcing the final (maybe) itinerary for the Spring Rockhound Odyssey later this week. A few of the possible locations haven't panned out, but a few surprises have come along and will make this even more of a "must do" trip. If you can join us for paprt or all of the trip, drop me a message. More soon! Kris
